I can always successfully print portrait pages (pdf). But if I print landscape page (pdf), then it seems like it forces to print landscape in portrait, so page is not correctly rotated. Page: ╔═══════════╗ ║ABCDEFGHIJK║ ║LMNOPQRSTUV║ ╚═══════════╝ Printer print if I use default KDE print dialog settings (don't change orientation): ╔═══════╗ ║ABCDEFG║ ║LMNOPQR║ ║ ║ ╚═══════╝ The solution temporary - change orientation to portrait. Other programs (like libreOffice, Evince) print well, so this is not my printers configuration problem. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open landscape pdf with Okular 2. Which settings do you use in the print dialog when you print it from the Adobe Reader? Evince with default settings print normally. (also Portrait selected by default, autorotate and centrate by default). (Okular print orientation by default is Landscape! So I must every time use workaroud by changing properties of printing settings to Portrait) With "lp -d HP-LaserJet-1018 landscape_file_name.pdf" it prints very strange: large grey pixels, pixel's height is much more bigger than width. If "Auto Rotate and Center" is switched off, the printout is different if "Portrait" or "Landscape" is selected but the printout is always what the Adobe Reader "Preview" shows - at least for me with a HP LaserJet 1020 (same kind of printer as your HP LaserJet 1018). In Evince with "Auto Rotate and Center" switched on it is similar behaviour. Perhaps there is a bug in Okular? Perhaps there is only a missing feature "Auto Rotate and Center" in Okular? Perhaps your particular PDF in attachment #423966 is somehow not correct which somehow confuses Okular? At least I am confused because your PDF looks like "landscape" but Adobe Reader and Evince seem to "think" it is "portrait" (or is "portrait" perhaps only a hardcoded default which doesn't matter because they also use "Auto Rotate and Center" by default)? But I am not at all a PDF expert to decide this. FYI: Regarding large grey pixels in case of direct PDF printing. I can also reproduce it with my HP LaserJet 1020 when I use the "HPIJS" driver and your PDF. When I use the "HPCUPS" driver, it looks better but the I get the whole first page printed with black background. HP's HPLIP software provides their two drivers HPIJS and HPCUPS also for the HP LaserJet 1018 via /usr/share/cups/model/manufacturer-PPDs/hplip/hp-laserjet_1018-hpijs.ppd.gz "HP LaserJet 1018 hpijs, 3.11.3a, requires proprietary plugin" and via /usr/share/cups/model/manufacturer-PPDs/hplip/hp-laserjet_1018.ppd.gz "HP LaserJet 1018, hpcups 3.11.3a, requires proprietary plugin" Often HPIJS works better than HPCUPS but sometimes it is the other way round, see bug #630696 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Acrobat Read print with large pixels. Without Autorotating¢ering, but with option to print as Portrait: Evince print A4 like A5 in top of page; whole PDF printed, but minimized. Acrobat reader prints as it shows in preview (similar to evince, but centered).
