[Bug 392624] New: wyse winterm s50: usb keyboard blocks usb detection at installation
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=392624 Summary: wyse winterm s50: usb keyboard blocks usb detection at installation Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Beta 3 Platform: i586 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: jkosina@novell.com ReportedBy: mvidner@novell.com QAContact: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com CC: pavel@novell.com Found By: --- (This is the problem that you already went to see once to my desk.) (Pavel says:) i8042 seems to have >1 problem on this machine. First, it thinks it is keylocked. Second, something seems to go very wrong during "detecting USB devices" (i8042 emulation -> usb handover?): keyboard needs to be unplugged and replugged for boot to continue. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Doing a proper workaround for the i8042 emulation -> USB handover will be a little bit difficult, as the machine doesn't have DMI entries filled in, so we can't do any DMI-based matching workarounds, right? Anyway, I'd need the output of kernel booted with 'i8042.debug' in order to proceed with creating workaround for this buggy hardware. Thanks. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Tejun is already trying to blacklist this machine for 375945, so maybe his code can be reused if he is successful? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
