https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=674271 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=674271#c0 Summary: evolution-data-server not a dependancy of evolution Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: RC 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Evolution AssignedTo: bnc-team-evolution@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: johanh.botha@eskom.co.za QAContact: lakhil@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0b10) Gecko/20110121 Firefox/4.0b10 When I installed evolution, I was not able to connect to the mailserver. Under "server type", the only option was NONE I then manually installed evolution-data-server, and after that it could connect to the Groupwise server without a problem (Not completely - it is still as slow as always) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.On a fresh install, select evolution to be installed 2.evolution-data-server is not auto-selected 3.Try and set up a mail account on evolution, and the only available server type will be NONE 4.Install evolution-data-server. 5.Now it is possible to select other server types. Expected Results: If you select evolution, the evolution-data-server package should automatically be installed - or an alternative that allows evolution to work. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I was creating a new 11.4 build for my place of work, upgrading from 11.2. I had installed a base 11.4 x64 KDE, with Evolution and Evolution-Exchange. Evolution would allow me to connect to the exchange server and read mail but would not allow you to send mail. Nothing appears in the outbox, if you click on "To;" button in the mail message Evolution crashes/closes. 11.2 worked fine, to try to work out when the issue happened I started rolling back versions. I looked at a base 11.3 install and noticed that evolution-data-server was selected by default. I installed on my 11.4 build and send worked. The description says: "Evolution Data Server provides a central location for your address book and calendar in the GNOME Desktop" However I'm running KDE, there still seems to be some dependencies to evolution-data-server either from Evolution or Evolution-exchange or both. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
