[Bug 963306] New: Gnome software shows "up to date" but it is actually downloading updates clandestinely
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=963306 Bug ID: 963306 Summary: Gnome software shows "up to date" but it is actually downloading updates clandestinely Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: 2015* Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME Assignee: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: badshah400@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 662955 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=662955&action=edit Up-to-date but downloading This occasionally (every time?) happens when I manually click on the "Check for updates" button in gnome-software: It starts by showing the "Checking for updates" message, but then quickly shifts to showing "Your system is up to date". In the background, though, it is still downloading updates which it has really found. This is clear from the fact that the System Monitor shows a large volume download going on and g-s switches to the "Software Updates Available" state shortly after this downloading is over. The fact that g-s shows the system is up-to-date while it has actually found updates and is really downloading them in the bkg is mighty naughty of it... Someone who didn't know better might be lulled into false sense of security. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
