Continue? [yes/no] (no): yes The public keys should probably be shipped with distribution (it is the case for at least Fedora), otherwise the user can not be sure about the validity of the updates which can be considered a security flaw. I dropped the second partition, which did not seem to be mountable and run it elsewhere and everything works fine. I have no idea what sort of hardware problem could cause this (memory corruption which could result in corrupted pkgdb?), but seems like on another hardware the system runs flawlessly.
