https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=405744 Summary: Kernel problem Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: doiggl@velocitynet.com.au QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Hello, What are the steps in putting back the kernel from the 11.0 DVD onto a pc. Its a x86_64. The reason I ask is because I upgraded the kernel then rebooted and found out the kernel did not boot,it got stuck and the boot process does not complete. I want to know the steps on how to put back the kernel from the 11.0 DVD onto the system because I know that one works. The disk partitions are ok. Thanks for your help and time. If update is OK old kernel is in boot menu. Just use arrow keys to change kernel. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Question: Do you have any utility or procedure to put back in a working kernel, even just a list of steps and using a live-cd, I would like to know. Feel free to close this because I now have a working system, but I would still like to put back a working kernel. The DVD ISO have a repair option that can repair the bootloader but if the kernel on the media does not work, you're out of luck :-( -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
