I am running kernel 2.6.22.9-0.4-default installed from dvd (With kde4.0.1 and kde3 and gnome) i tried s2ram and suspsend from kde3. So to get more information, you can add "splash = n" to /etc/suspend.conf, then the cloud screen will go away and you will see some (hopefully) usefull messages and maybe we can determine from those what the problem is.
