[Bug 344037] New: boot. swap init script does not support LUKS-encrypted swap partitions
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=344037 Summary: boot.swap init script does not support LUKS-encrypted swap partitions Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: dbailey@datanetworks.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- When setting up disk encryption, as detailed here, http://en.opensuse.org/Encrypted_Root_File_System_with_SUSE_HOWTO after creating the LUKS-encrypted swap partition and rebooting, the system does not recognize, nor use the encrypted swap partition. After reviewing /etc/init.d/boot.swap, it does not appear that the script supports LUKS-encrypted swap partitions. Supporting whole-disk encryption, including swap partitions, is an important part of modern operating system security. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I was unaware of the /etc/crypttab or /etc/init.d/boot.crypto files. I'm writing updated procedures for the wiki in the discussion section. I've got to figure out how suspend to disk interacts with a LUKS-encrypted swap device. Thanks for your help. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
