[Bug 281269] New: Only 3GB from 4GB available on Thinkpad Z61p
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=281269 Summary: Only 3GB from 4GB available on Thinkpad Z61p Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.2 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ffiene@veka.com QAContact: qa@suse.de I have a problem with a Thinkpad Z61p: Only 3 of 4GB RAM are recognized by the linux kernel! The bios tells me, 4GB are available, but openSUSE-10.2-x86-64 says: +++snip+++ ffiene@erwin:~> free total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 3090736 2864084 226652 0 152 2072540 [...] +++snip+++ and +++snip+++ ffiene@erwin:~> cat /proc/mtrr reg00: base=0x00000000 ( 0MB), size=2048MB: write-back, count=1 reg01: base=0x80000000 (2048MB), size=1024MB: write-back, count=1 reg02: base=0xbff00000 (3071MB), size= 1MB: uncachable, count=1 reg03: base=0xd0000000 (3328MB), size= 256MB: write-combining, count=1 +++snip+++ So where is the last gig of my memory? Am i the only one with a 4GB Thinkpad? BTW: Vista 32bit recognize the whole memory on a colleagues notebook so i think this is not a bios/hardware issue!! There is also no bios setting for memory. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
