After this I added KDE4 Desktop inv. and KDE4 BaseSystem from Yast and updated to KDE4.2.2 from the repositories Core,Community and Playground. The bug:Normally I am using workspace Arbeitsflläche ohne Werkzeugbox. Change to Arbeitsfläche Standard-Arbeitsflächen-Behälter or Ordnerinhalte anzeigen were excepted by the system e.g all icons removed into the toolbox. Return to Arbeitsfläche ohne Werkzeugbox (anwenden and OK) resulted either 1. in Crash Signal 11.After reboot the Arbeitsfläche ohne Werkzeugbox reappeared all icons within the limits of the toolbox,however the icons formerly beyond the limits were empty and the icons of applications (e.g.Blender or Kruler) had to be placed again. or 2. no crash but all icons still within the limits of the toolbox and complete. After trying to remove the icons to a place outside the toolbox by drag and drop or just to move them they returned to their place inside the toolbox. After reboot the Arbeitsfläche ohne Werkzeugbox reappeared and all icons could freely be removed. After all I rebooted and the Arbeitsfläche without toolbox was fully manoeuvrable again. The situation as described in step No.3 is unchanged. Now I added KDE 4.1.3 with Yast and updated to KDE 4.3 from the repository. ---open Suse 11.1 / 2.6.27.29-0.1-pae i686 KDE 4.3.0 rel 158 with personal settings as on 4.2. Changing between Ordneransicht,Arbeitsfläche-Standard and Arbeitsfläche ohne works without a problem except a crashsignal 11 every now and then,however no need to make a systemrestart. i can't see a difference between Arbeitsfläche-Standard and Arbeitsfläche ohne. Additional icons such as Yast and Systemeinstellungen could freely be moved and kept their position after changing forth and back between the Arbeitsflächen. 1. However the icons changed their sizes to very small after having been set to a larger size,but in a very funny way :sometimes they all changed their size,sometimes only one did. 2. The menu for Ordneransicht does't seem to be stable: a.changes in Anzeige ( size of symbol,textcolour and Textschatten) are excepted and visible after pressing the OK-button,but don't return after chanching the Arbeitsfläche or systemrestart. The Anwenden-button is not active. 3.The Desktoppanel Arbeitsplatz-Konqueror sysinfo:/ is working fine onKDE 4.3,however no longer on KDE 3.5.10.Clicking the respective icon wouldn't produce the Arbeitsplatzpanel of KDE 3.5.10 as it did before installing KDE 4.3. The troubles when switching between Arbeitsflächen are unchanged. Eberhard ( A question: after installation of KDE 4.3.1 additionally to KDE 3.5.10 my NX server is showing the KDE 4.3.1. desktop on default on my other machine. When returning to Arbeitsfläche Ordneransicht the Ordnericons have changed both their sizes and their positions whereas they had been fixed by the menu. They miniprogramme icons are still positioned in the upper left corner menu of the screen amongst the Ordnericons whereas having been been fixed by the menu to a position onto the right side of the screen. Whenever coming back to the previous one the miniprogamme icons have changed their positions on the screen and partly have changed their sizes. When returning to Arbeitsfläche Ordneransicht both miniprogramme icons and ordnericons are on different positions and at different sizes than before. Or do I expect the wrong thing? Eventually I wiped out everything of KDE4,cleaned up the remaining dependencies and will continue with KDE 3.5.10 and Gnome for a while without testing. So from my side this bug is finished.
