i tried uploading it to that server again, but i am not sure it succeeded

the userid is needed though, otherwise its not usable.

I've never uploaded any key to any key server but I'd imagine they sent the verification e-mail to the e-mail address specified in the uploaded certificate with something like: "Click here to verify Your e-mail address." or "Do You consent to distribute your identity information with your public key?" -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
