[Bug 342508] New: wings crashes because of "beam: xcb_lock.c:77: _XGetXCBBuffer: Assertion `((int) ((xcb_req) - (dpy->request)) >= 0)' failed."
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=342508 Summary: wings crashes because of "beam: xcb_lock.c:77: _XGetXCBBuffer: Assertion `((int) ((xcb_req) - (dpy- >request)) >= 0)' failed." Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: novell_com@xibo.at QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer I wanted to install wings on OpenSuse 10.3, but it doesn't start. On the terminal I saw the following error: beam: xcb_xlib.c:52: xcb_xlib_unlock: Assertion `c->xlib.lock' failed. export LIBXCB_ALLOW_SLOPPY_LOCK=1 fixed the problem, but now it crashes on every operation (scale, move, extrude...) Aborted I think, this ( http://https//bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=330991 ) java bug is related. I've posted the same bug in the wings board ( http://p222.ezboard.com/fnendowingsmiraifrm1.showMessageRange?topicID=2789.topic&start=75&stop=76 ) and they said that this is a library bug. On openSuse 10.2 Wings worked well. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

So wings ships it's own libSDL? Yes, apparently. Wings is programmed in Erlang and it uses some weird beam files. These beam files somehow need the SDL..

This is libxcb, which already replaced the xlock assertion with a warning. /wings ERROR: ld.so: object '/suse/sndirsch/wings-0.98.36/lib/esdl-0.96.0626/priv/libSDL-1.2.so.0' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored. Anyway, we're not willing to workaround any issues with 3rd party applications, which ship their own library stack. I think the easiest way for you is just to remove wing's SDL. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
