https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=862985 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=862985#c0 Summary: Kernel update 3.11.10-7 leaves kernel linux-3.11.6-4 installed AND listed in rpm database Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: graymark@ptd.net QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:27.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/27.0 I was somewhat surprised to see that the update to kernel-desktop-3.11.10-7.1 left kernel-desktop-3.11.6-4.1 in place, but even more surprised to find that both kernels are listed in the rpm database as supplying kernel-desktop -- no good will come from this I suspect. I will supply zypper update logs if this has not happened to you guys as well. In the default setting it always leave the previous kernel for safety reasons (in case the new one breaks antyhing). This can be configured in /etc/zypp/zypp.conf, search for multiversion. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
