[Bug 1020850] New: Ensure network works on a fresh install
http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1020850 Bug ID: 1020850 Summary: Ensure network works on a fresh install Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.2 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: adrien.plazas@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- I recently installed OpenSUSE 42.2 on a hardware with Wifi as the only gate to the network. In order to set network up, yast required me to install the iw package. As you can imagine, installing a package without the network can be pretty inconvenient: I had to look for an ethernet to USB adapter to be able to install just one package. Nowadays network is expected or required for any package management and hence for a useful system, so maybe it's good regarding network to install by default more than needed than not enough. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I recently installed OpenSUSE 42.2 on a hardware with Wifi as the only gate to the network.
That can be an interesting feature to have in the future. Could you please create a feature request for that? You can do it here https://fate.suse.com/ or here https://features.opensuse.org/ -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
