[Bug 619773] New: Do recognize removable devices
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=619773 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=619773#c0 Summary: Do recognize removable devices Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: RC 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Hotplug AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: lars.koraeus@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-GB; rv:1.9.2.4) Gecko/20100527 SUSE/3.6.4-2.2 Firefox/3.6.4 As a follow up on Bug 613898. Still the Device notifier does not recognise any removable devices. The only way is to put it into the fstab with a user option to make it possible to manually work for an ordinary user. I can understand that this is very late recognised as there are so any other things one is focusing on. First now I am testing with a copy of my full current system. What I do not understand is that the KDE team can decide not to install things they do not need. What will happen if everyone omit things they do not need. Some wider perspective, thanks. KDE is acting as they are the OS. Let them get rid of all former Microsoft programmers and start to act as a Linux window manager. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Insert a DVD or USB stick 2.Try to wait or look at the Device notifier 3. Actual Results: Nothing happenns Expected Results: To see the device in the Device Notifier and to be able to mount it. The hal daemon is installed and running. But that seems not to be all needed to make it work. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
