I have a multiboot environment on this machine.

Then rather try to install the old x86-64 kernel on Leap 42.2 system and test with it. Btrfs might be a problem with the old driver, though... In anyway, if 3.12.x shows the problem, it's probably a regression since long time ago. Then the best would be to contact with the upstream dev.
