It works on opensuse 11.2 after adding "acpi_backlight-vendor" to grub options. It seems does not work at all on 11.3 x86_64 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Write xbacklightin terminal. 2. "Write xbacklight = 45" in terminal. 3. Write xbacklight in terminal. Actual Results: xbacklight value is changed but lcd brightness is still maximal. with "acpi_backlight=vendor" option command throws error: "no outputs have backlight property" Expected Results: lcd brightness must be reduced opensuse 11.3 x86_64 RC2, intel GMA4500mhd, samsung R510 XAA0UA notebook. Bug disappears if i set up old (2.6.31-desktop) kernel.
