[Bug 531551] New: sd card reader doesn't mount card: org.freedesktop.hal.storage.mount-fixed auth_admin_keep_always <-- (action, result)
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=531551 Summary: sd card reader doesn't mount card: org.freedesktop.hal.storage.mount-fixed auth_admin_keep_always <-- (action, result) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: 32bit OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Hotplug AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: johanreinink@hotmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042700 SUSE/3.0.10-1.1 Firefox/3.0.10 Before I updated my opensuse 11.1 a few days ago, the sd card reader worked fine. After, it gave the following error when I insert a sd card: org.freedesktop.hal.storage.mount-fixed auth_admin_keep_always <-- (action, result) Funny thing is that when I did safety remove before the update, I got: The device was successfully unmounted, but could not be ejected. It still does it after the workaround. So, just like mentioned by m"ount-fixed" in the error, it probably thinks its a fixed device. And after the update, it failed to mount with this error. Probably fixing one thing broke this. I did the following workaround: I replaced in /usr/share/PolicyKit/policy/org.freedesktop.hal.storage.policy: <action id="org.freedesktop.hal.storage.mount-fixed"> <description>Mount file systems from internal drives.</description> <message>System policy prevents mounting internal media</message> <defaults> <allow_inactive>no</allow_inactive> <allow_active>auth_admin_keep_always</allow_active> </defaults> </action> with: <action id="org.freedesktop.hal.storage.mount-fixed"> <description>Mount file systems from internal drives.</description> <message>System policy prevents mounting internal media</message> <defaults> <allow_inactive>no</allow_inactive> <allow_active>yes</allow_active> </defaults> </action> Not the neatest solution, but now it mounts the sd card and it works fine. It's the card reader from an asus f3 laptop. I'm new to this kind of error, if any hardware info is need, just ask. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. put in the sd card 2. read the error 3. nothing mounts Actual Results: error message: org.freedesktop.hal.storage.mount-fixed auth_admin_keep_always <-- (action, result) and no acces Expected Results: give a pop up with options to open the folder, read the images, do nothing, things like that. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
