I clicked install it seemed to work ok started to download the patch. I was then greeted with a Xlib extension "XInputExtension" mission on display "linux.office:1.0" Failed to get list of devices. Not LibVNCserver, no? Where did the message 'Xlib extension "XInputExtension" mission on display "linux.office:1.0"' get displayed? In a terminal (xterm/konsole/gnome-terminal)? After issueing what command exactly? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=335487#c5 --- Comment #5 from David Shorthouse <david.shorthouse@gmail.com> 2007-10-26 02:46:18 MST --- I removed LibVNCserver I also removed the packages that were associated with it. Im not that technical.. Basically the machine requested an update showed that there were updates to be installed using the openSUSE Updater I then clicked on the install. It completed the update. Got to the end of updating then the error message came up in its own window. I will reinstall the packages and post the results. The system did however do the update. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=335487#c8 --- Comment #8 from Kurt Garloff <garloff@novell.com> 2007-11-07 08:06:53 MST --- David, the warning is ugly but really harmless ... I still can not see how it would be related to LibVNCserver being installed or not. How do you access your display? Are you sitting in front of the screen? Or remotely? Via X11 export? Via VNC? How are you connecting to it then? x11vnc_ssh? Vncclient to 5901 with a login prompt? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=335487#c9 --- Comment #9 from David Shorthouse <david.shorthouse@gmail.com> 2007-11-08 06:16:30 MST --- Hi Kurt, I am using the UltraVNC client on a windows machine to connect to port 5901 After running a couple of tests including above.. As i said i reinstalled the libVNCserver and as root I had no problem it didn't error.. I presumed it was LibVNCserver as after removing it I didn't get the error.. But this was due to me being logged in as root and not as a user.. The machine using the normal KDE Xdisplay works fine.. As I did state although the error occurs the update completes correctly. Please accept my apologies if it was misleading. The machine is my main machine so I am limited in what I can do with it.
