It appears that it is not initialising the default network connection correctly and then not saving the information to autostart the connection. To fix the issue and keep it functioning after a reboot I was required to reinitialise the default network with the below command virsh net-define /usr/share/libvirt/networks/default.xml then to get the network connection to restart each boot sudo virsh net-autostart default and then to start it in this instance virsh net-start default After these steps it has continued to function and starts correctly after each boot.
