[Bug 564293] New: How to configure additional IP addresses for the loopback interface lo with NetworkManager
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=564293 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=564293#c0 Summary: How to configure additional IP addresses for the loopback interface lo with NetworkManager Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: torsten.foertsch@gmx.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091103 SUSE/3.5.5-1.1.2 Firefox/3.5.5 In prior versions of opensuse one could configure lo via /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-lo despite the fact that the rest of the network was handled by NetworkManager. For example add the following lines to /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-lo: IPADDR_1=192.168.240.1 NETMASK_1=255.255.240.0 LABEL_1=1 I'd expect after the next reboot that lo:1 has the ip address 192.168.240.1. But nothing happens. I have not found a way to do something like that using NetworkManager or to exclude lo from the list of interfaces managed by it. Torsten,
It works fine for me. My config file like this. Could you try it?
Works here as well, now. Thanks. Back in Dec. it didn't work. Perhaps an interim zypper up solved it. I think the ticket can be closed. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
