[Bug 948624] New: The USE_TYPO_METRICS flag is not set in the OS/2 table of Latin Modern Math
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=948624 Bug ID: 948624 Summary: The USE_TYPO_METRICS flag is not set in the OS/2 table of Latin Modern Math Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: fred.wang@free.fr QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Dear Maintainer, The texlive-lm-math package of openSuse 13.1 and 13.2 contains version 1.958 of the latin modern math font. In this version, the USE_TYPO_METRICS flag is not set in the OS/2 table of Latin Modern Math, which can lead to excessive line spacing. See http://www.microsoft.com/typography/otspec/os2.htm#fss This bug is fixed upstream, please upgrade to version 1.959: http://www.gust.org.pl/gustnews/news02-05-10-2014en [ Rationale: Starting with Gecko 31, the typo metrics are used when either USE_TYPO_METRICS is set or the font contains a MATH table. However, starting with Gecko 43, it will only be used when USE_TYPO_METRICS is explicitly set: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=947650#c0 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1170782 ] -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

--- Comment #4 from Frédéric Wang
I'm currently out of time to do an update of TeXLive from 2014 to 2015 :( An open/closed or sowhatever bug does not help here.
My point in comment 2 was about helping people to track the advancement of this bug not about pushing openSUSE to fix it (and the "RESOLVED UPSTREAM" status is a bit weird to me, other distros close the bug once the upstream fix is integrated into the distro, not before...). For that purpose, the easiest way would be to be cc'ed to a bug about "upgrading to TeXlive 2015" or similar but otherwise please let me know how I can keep informed about the status. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
