[Bug 558955] New: Software Management shows lists by installed before not installed, rather than alphabetical
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=558955 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=558955#c0 Summary: Software Management shows lists by installed before not installed, rather than alphabetical Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: Joseph.Comfort@asu.edu QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.4) Gecko/20091016 SUSE/3.5.4-1.1.2 Firefox/3.5.4 The lists shown by Software Management for open SuSE 11.2 are organized first by installed rpms, then the non-installed ones. This is a new arrangement, and is very, very annoying. I prefer a straight alphabetical list. It is much easier to see what parts of an application have been installed and which have not been. It is especially important when I am upgrading to a new version of the system, and at other times as well. I struggled to go back and forth during the recent upgrade. Maybe there is someone who likes things the new way. OK, but at least put in a configuration switch somewhere to help the other people. (I set a POSIX ordering at login, which puts capital letters before lower-case letters. I prefer this for files in directories, but if the configuration switch could also make this an option for Software Management, that would be wonderful.) But you can still switch to the old behavior, resp. you can sort the table as you want by clicking the header (e.g. you can sort by size if you want to remove some packages when your disk is running out of free space...). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
