Based on our developer's suggestion, This caused from Linux Kernel 3.0. Such as with kernel 3.0.6-0.7-pae and 3.0.7-0.7-pae.It doesn't care for the PCI hole. I tried this with SLES11SP2 for VMware Beta7/8, it always stops at "Probling EDD (edd=off to disable)....ok" Thanks and Best Regards, Bo Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Installed SLES/D 11 SP2 Beta8 32bit configured >= 4 G Memory in ESX Server 4.1U2 2.Monitor this installation or reboot this VM after installing this VM Actual Results: This VM always hangs with black screen or stop at some phase. Expected Results: This VM with PAE kernel and 4 G Memory always boot successfully.
