[Bug 254648] New: difficult if not impossible to add apache directory entry
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=254648 Summary: difficult if not impossible to add apache directory entry Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: gatoatigrado@myrealbox.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com I like the idea of using YaST instead of having to find and edit apache .config files, but 1.) YaST should print the location of the file, if manual editing is necessary / preferred (/etc/apache2/default-server.conf) 2.) YaST should be able to add the "Directory" entries. If you try to type in "Directory", it says that there is already one. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

YaST should print the location of the file, if manual editing is necessary / preferred (/etc/apache2/default-server.conf)
What you mean by "manual editing is necessary" ? An example ... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=254648 ------- Comment #5 from judas_iscariote@shorewall.net 2007-04-17 10:05 MST ------- I think if yast can create <Directory> Sections they sould be placed one-by-one in /etc/apache2/conf.d/absolute-path-to-dir.yast.conf each one in a separate file. manual edit should not be neccesarry nor reccommended "This file has been generated by yast on $DATE do not edit, if you want to edit it, rename to absolute-path-to-dir.conf and yast will ingore it".. That's my suggestion. ;-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Why we need to separate editable/non-editable files with this really strange way? Again: In 10.3 (or last factory source) there are possibility to change Directory location, you're not satisfied with that? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
