First, my experience with LibreOffice is better than my previous experience with OOo since the version shipped with openSuSE 11.2. So, let me thank and congratulate you all. However, under 11.2, after I updated OOo to LibreOffice, the office's window has a delay in "being active", tends to open resized (not maximized in despite the previous settings) and delayed in repaint properly (once it persisted wrongly, then I had to close the application: so, I decided to report it). This LibreOffice is described in the Help > About as: "LibreOffice 3.3.1 OOO330m19 (Build:8) tag libreoffice-3.3.1.2" P. D.: I have 3 Gb of RAM, 100 Gb of free HDD space, 2 Gb of swap, and an AMD Turion X2 RM-70. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open LibreOffice Writer directly or clicking on a document. 2. 3. Actual Results: See above and the picture (in this once-case the effect was not temporally, but persisted, so I had to close the application). Does it help you to remove it? Maximizing the Writer window takes about 1-2 second here on openSUSE-11.4. It is a bit faster with openSUSE-11.2. So, it is relatively slow but it does not freeze. LanguageTool is quite problematic piece of software. It freezes the application for >5 seconds when it is being initialized. LO does not resize until the languagetool is initialized => it takes even 10 seconds... In your case, it might be even longer because the language tool is used to check the document, .. Also, could you please provide output of the "top" command when LO freezes?
