--- Comment #3 from JP Rosevear jpr@novell.com 2008-05-02 07:17:29 MST --- These are something we are inserting on SuSE only are they Jakub (ie they come from upstream right?)

--- Comment #4 from Jakub Steiner jimmac@novell.com 2008-05-03 13:46:02 MST --- I believe the tango color scheme comes from upstream. At least I wasn't involved in this at all. Most of the color themes for me work only for inverted terminal colors (ie light text on dark background).

--- Comment #5 from JP Rosevear jpr@novell.com 2008-05-04 10:49:02 MST --- Yes, it was added for: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356389
And defaulted to for: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458115
Vincent?
/me suspects this is a wontfix because the tango theme colors are the tango theme colors.

--- Comment #6 from Vincent Untz vuntz@novell.com 2008-05-05 04:53:16 MST --- Well, we can change the default if we really want. It can be argued that a terminal is already very special, so not following the tango colors wouldn't be a big issue.
Or maybe it's possible to rework a bit the colors, but Jakub would know better than me in this case.
Note that I'm using my terminal with a dark background, and I suspect many people do the same... Maybe it makes sense to consider this change instead.

--- Comment #7 from Jakub Steiner jimmac@novell.com 2008-05-05 05:12:24 MST --- Dark background, light text sounds like a better default to me.

--- Comment #8 from Hans Petter Jansson hpj@novell.com 2008-08-16 00:19:50 MDT --- Unfortunately, it's hard to make colored text look legible on a light background without also making it look ugly.
Most likely, the theme needs to specify the background color somehow.

--- Comment #10 from Casual J. Programmer casualprogrammer@gmail.com 2008-12-25 04:07:12 MST --- Still there in 11.1 final, it seems to be a problem for the "K" people as well (Bug 216549).
For me it's just a matter of finding the proper value for the background color to support the matching foreground. See attachments.
