All other functions of the machine are perfect with no special arguments to s2ram. Machine can be recovered by using ssh from a remote machine to reboot it, or pressing the power button to start a suspend-to-disc. On resume from suspend-to-disc all is well again. I have tried all the suggested combinations of arguments to s2ram, but none seem to help. My only solution is to re-build the kernel with PS/2 mouse support in a module, and add psmouse to the list of modules to be removed and re-inserted during a suspend/resume cycle. The machine then works flawlessly. Output of lspci follows. Can provide more info on request.
