[Bug 327585] New: No keyboard and mouse after resume from suspend to RAM
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=327585#c1 Summary: No keyboard and mouse after resume from suspend to RAM Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Mobile Devices AssignedTo: behlert@novell.com ReportedBy: alistair@tyeurgain.free-online.co.uk QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer Computer: HP Compaq nx7400 Suspend to ram/resume works using s2ram -f except on return the keyboard and mouse are inactive. All other functions of the machine are perfect with no special arguments to s2ram. Machine can be recovered by using ssh from a remote machine to reboot it, or pressing the power button to start a suspend-to-disc. On resume from suspend-to-disc all is well again. I have tried all the suggested combinations of arguments to s2ram, but none seem to help. My only solution is to re-build the kernel with PS/2 mouse support in a module, and add psmouse to the list of modules to be removed and re-inserted during a suspend/resume cycle. The machine then works flawlessly. Output of lspci follows. Can provide more info on request. Thomas, I reconsider you talking about a psmouse issue sometime in the past. Maybe this can be related? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=327585#c2 --- Comment #2 from Thomas Renninger <trenn@novell.com> 2007-10-31 08:13:31 MST --- It may be that the fix for it caused this, yes. There was some suspend/resume stuff added for those devices. Oh 10.2.., best is you really try 10.3. IMO it's not worth digging for 10.2 for this. It's not critical and risking breakage of other systems is nothing we want for 10.2. If this is still a problem in 10.3, it's probably also still a mainline bug. Then we could find a mainline solution, get some testing feedback and might be able to push/backport something safe into 10.3 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
