It took forever because there were so many incredibly large files. The download dragged on and on and on. Oh, well. If an update is necessary, then sometimes you have to live with it. Except it happened again this morning. For "texlive". *STOP IT*. If you are going to update a massive chunk of code, then for *GOD's* sake do enough QA to be sure you won't be doing it again within a couple of weeks.
