https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=402732 Summary: un-mute doesn't ... Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mmeeks@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- I have a fairly bog-standard T60p. I press mute with audio playing - the sound mutes & a nice overlay pops up with a mute icon. I press un-mute: the overlay pops up without the mute symbol. Sadly however I hear no audio ;-) I press volume up (or down) and I get audio again. Any ideas how to debug & isolate where the problem is ? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It handles mute/vol-up/vol-down. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Stefan - who is good with multimedia keys at a lower level ? :-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Well - I put a breakpoint there - and stop any actions being taken by do_sound_action - and the functionality is the same: the sound mutes & un-mutes just perfectly using the multimedia keys - without this callback being run at all ;-)
By "mutes and un-mutes just perfectly using the multimedia keys" you mean that breaking do_sound_action() fixes the issue for you? Or did I misunderstand that commnet? Could you please run 'evtest' (contained in input-utils package) on the input device in /dev/input/eventX which provides the mute/unmute key to see whether they are coming out of kernel correctly? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
