http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=612865 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=612865#c0 Summary: BLT "barchart" Widget crashes immediately on activation Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: X11 Applications AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: antony.griffiths@siemens.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.0.3705; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; InfoPath.1; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.30; MS-RTC LM 8; .NET CLR 3.0.4506.2152; .NET CLR 3.5.30729) RPM Packages: blt-2.4z-342.62.1.i586.rpm blt-2.4z-342.62.1.x86_64.rpm The "barchart" is activated in a tcl application --> The window dissapears in less than a second and the following error messages are displayed: X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attribute) Major opcode of failed request: 148 (RENDER) Minor opcode of failed request: 4 (RenderCreatePicture) Serial number of failed request: 671 Current serial number in output stream: 680. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.cd /usr/share/tcl/blt2.4/demos 2. ./graph4.tcl 3. exibits the same behaviour. Expected Results: The "barchart" should have been displayed. We have had no problems in this area until open SuSe 11.0. Versions 11.0, 11.1 and 11.2 exibit the same behaviour. In /usr/share/tcl/blt2.4/demos, all "barchart" examples either crash with SIGSEGV of have syntax errors in the tcl-code. Strangely enough example graph4.tcl exibits the same behaviour as described in Details. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I tested newer CVS snapshots from time to time, but they either didn't even compile or crashed at other places. Also, the author almost never puts log entries to his CVS checkins, so it is nearly impossible to follow the development. That's why BLT has finally been dropped for 11.3 and I see not much chances to repair it for the other 11.x releases. Patches are of course welcome. I'll consider re-adding it at least as an addon package in the build service if version 3.0 ever comes out and plays better with the Tcl core. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
