[Bug 358834] New: drives on LSI 1068E SAS controller not recognized
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=358834 Summary: drives on LSI 1068E SAS controller not recognized Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Alpha 2 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: harbaugh@ncifcrf.gov QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Supermicro SuperServer 8045C-3R with LSI 1068E SAS controller Tried all the LSI drivers I could find in the installation, but none of the drivers were able to see the disks on the LSI 1068E controller I don't see any reports about this problem on google, but I also don't see any reports about *how* to get linux to see the 1068E SAS controller. Nor do I see any reports about the driver being proprietary. So I don't really know if I missed a driver or not. Please help. I have seen some reports about hacking the device recognition to use the MPT driver for similar chips, which eliminates the raid functionality. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Please contact LSI, they might have a pointer to a new driver to support it. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't. But then again, nothing much we can do here if it doesn't, as the driver never claimed to support this device. Please take it to the linux-scsi mailing list, it has to be fixed upstream. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
