I have the same problem on my desktop with radeon GPU. The system starts without error message in text mode until just before the graphical interface and then no further progress. Login via another TTY is not possible (only blinking cursor), only MagicSysReq still works.
In your case, try to load with nomodeset boot option. If this boots up, it indeed means a problem in radeon driver, and please open another bug report. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

No, the system was still sort of responsive, but it wouldn't reach any graphical or console target. I have attached the full log from reboot until I power cycled the laptop again, maybe you can find something useful in there? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Thanks, it showed a lot of other weird errors, and it implies something deep got broken. Did the boot option change anything? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Thanks for the updates. So this looks like a regression in iwlwifi.
Emanuel, could you confirm also the blacklisting works? I see iwlwifi on yours, too.
Many thanks for the tip with the blacklisting. With the two deactivated modules the system starts without errors. Strange that the error occurs only on my desktop system, my laptop (Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen. 6) doesn't have the error, although it also uses iwlwifi. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

However, I installed 5.7.2-3.g3bb02b8-default from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/HEAD/standard/ and the system seems to boot fine:
# uname -a Linux tweedledum 5.7.2-3.g3bb02b8-default #1 SMP Fri Jun 12 17:07:00 UTC 2020 (3bb02b8) x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Interesting. Actually, OBS Kernel:stable is more suitable alternative for TW: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/stable/standard/ And now I have found that the latest Kernel:HEAD and Kernel:stable contain Jiri's fix: iwl: fix crash in iwl_dbg_tlv_alloc_trigger This must be the one. Can other people confirm whether the 5.7.2 kernel in the above works? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Can other people confirm whether the 5.7.2 kernel in the above works?
I can also confirm that the 5.7.2 kernel from Kernel:stable works and the system boots without lockup. I have a ThinkPad x395 which also uses the Intel Wireless-AC 9260 chip. The update to 5.7.1 also caused my boot process to freeze, the kernel was throwing every ~30 seconds or so a bunch of "BUG: workqueue lockup" messages. Blacklisting iwlwifi and iwlmvm indeed helped and got rid of the lockups. The previous kernel 5.6.14 was running fine. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

For the record, 5.7.2-3.ga96d63c-default from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/stable/standard/ boots fine as well.
Unsurprisingly, this works for me as well. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
