[Bug 1230109] New: Add auto-cpufreq as a solution for optimizing performance and battery life
https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1230109 Bug ID: 1230109 Summary: Add auto-cpufreq as a solution for optimizing performance and battery life Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.6 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Other Assignee: screening-team-bugs@suse.de Reporter: o.g.m.belleux@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Target Milestone: --- Found By: --- Blocker: --- I'm using openSUSE leap 15.6 on a clevo-based notebook with the FlexiCharger function in the UEFI. The TLP and TuneD solutions are not appropriate for this 2022 model, which is fairly recent. Neither is disabling battery protection in the UEFI. After some research, it seems to me that [auto-cpufreq](https://github.com/AdnanHodzic/auto-cpufreq) might be a better solution, possibly in combination with thermald. I've found 3 projects at https://software.opensuse.org/package/auto-cpufreq?search_term=auto-cpufreq. The most recent is version 1.9.8, over a year old and in failed state for Leap. The most recent version of auto-cpufreq is 2.3.0. Would it be possible to officialy package this tool for all openSUSE flavours ?
