https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=704771 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=704771#c0 Summary: wireshark compiled without libz Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ldav1s@yahoo.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/534.30 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/12.0.742.112 Safari/534.30 The wireshark 1.4.4 which is part of the openSUSE 11.4 distribution seems to be compiled without libz. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start wireshark, logging in as root if needed 2. Attempt scanning gzipped web traffic Actual Results: Content-encoded entity body (gzip): N bytes [Error: Decompression failed] Expected Results: I was kind of expecting it to actually decompress the compressed content. Wireshark itself helpfully confirms that it was compiled without libz: 1. Start wireshark, logging in as root if needed 2. Help > About Wireshark > Wireshark tab 3. Read the info: Compiled (64-bit) with GTK+ 2.22.1, with GLib 2.28.0, with libpcap 1.1.1, without libz, with POSIX capabilities (Linux), without libpcre, with SMI 0.4.8, with c-ares 1.7.4, with Lua 5.1, without Python, with GnuTLS 2.8.6, with Gcrypt 1.4.6, with MIT Kerberos, with GeoIP, with PortAudio V19-devel (built Feb 22 2011), without AirPcap. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
