[Bug 961289] New: Windows does not boot after installation of Leap
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=961289 Bug ID: 961289 Summary: Windows does not boot after installation of Leap Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.1 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Bootloader Assignee: jsrain@suse.com Reporter: axel.braun@gmx.de QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- I installed Leap on a Dell Laptop, followed the proposal of the system. Needed two attempts ( see https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=960472 ) After installation Win 8.1 does not boot. THis is not related to https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=954126 as secure boot is disabled. When booting Windows it says' Automatic repair is being started' followed by 'Diagnosis is being performed' Afterwards it recomments to reboot, with same result as before. Anyone an idea how I can boot into W again, without killing the partition? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I have similar problem on my home laptop. I expect secure boot is enabled right? I think there is some problem in shim.

Thanks for uploading the logs. However they looks good to me. The microsoft efi loader was corrected identified and added to the grub.cfg as menu entry "Windows Boot Manager ..." [1]
From your previous comments it seems these are from a working system. Is it possible to get the log from your failure tests ?
Please see the attachment to bug 960472 - thats all I could offer.... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
