[Bug 371193] New: Subversion server config forces READ-ONLY when default installation is used
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=371193 Summary: Subversion server config forces READ-ONLY when default installation is used Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: vidar@hawkis.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Suggest altering script in /etc/sysconfig/svnserve From: SVNSERVE_OPTIONS="-d -R -r /some/repository/location" ;-R Enforce READ-ONLY To: SVNSERVE_OPTIONS="-d -r /some/repository/location" This way administrators do not have to fine read every small detail in every configuration different on all platforms (did I forget versions) of all configuration files to get a service up an running as expected. For what reason do you have a version repository? I suspect it is to store something in it and subsequently make updates to its content. If you cannot write to it, why setting it up in the first place? My point: This is not a Subversion problem. It is an OS configuration problem. And I spent some days on Google to find this obvious answer. Maybe this will be fixed in the upcomming release? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
