[Bug 726949] New: KDE crashes when trying to resize a Konsole window
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=726949 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=726949#c0 Summary: KDE crashes when trying to resize a Konsole window Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: RC 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: bjoern.jacobs@gmx.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=459233) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=459233) Log when crash happens User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:7.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0.1 When I try to resize a Konsole window (and only a Konsole window) KDE crashes completely and I get back to the login manager. Resizing all other windows I tested so far works fine. Also I can work with Konsole. Only resizing this particular window crashes KDE. I just installed openSUSE 12.1 RC1 on a fresh partition. Only changes so far: I complied and installed the proprietary drivers for my Broadcom WiFi chip and the newest ATI Catalyst driver from the official AMD homepage. BTW: Resizing windows with the VESA driver works but the contents of the windows become corrupted. I used openSUSE 11.4 up until today with no such errors in any way. I attached the output of /var/log/messages from the time the crash happens. If you need further information, let me know. Thanks! Björn Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a Konsole window 2. Try to resize it 3. Crash! Actual Results: KDE crashes and I am back at the login manager. Expected Results: Window gets resized -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It appears that some constellation of my hardware and the ATI driver were causing this error. Therefor this bug can be closed.
