With R128 and bad EDID,
Please update and update/fix your monitors/cables.
This is an expensive (when new) "high" resolution (for the time, and still) 116.5 DPI 1400x1050 laptop with user-friendly 4:3 aspect ratio. I doubt fixing is possible. After 11.4 GA I'll try replacing 11.3 with Rawhide & file upstream if that corrupts R128 the same. WRT to Dell P991, Both bug 222503 and Google http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=p991+ddc&btnG=Google+Search seem to indicate I'm hardly the only one using one with bad EDID. These (of which I have 3) and other Trinitrons as they age commonly need adjustment via proprietary Sony software, which I have used myself, and which I believe to be responsible for invalidating the EDID checksum, which in turn makes DDC unreliable. CRTs are now hard to come by, and yet are the only practical solution for probably most of the few who require full flexibility in choosing a screen resolution suitable to their needs, instead of being stuck with whatever their displays' native mode happens to be. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Fedora requires more RAM to run its installer than this laptop has available. 12.2B1+ acts exactly like 11.4, works once necessary comments are removed from 50-device.conf, 50-monitor.conf & 50-screen.conf. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
