https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=850446 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=850446#c0 Summary: Network configuration /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-enp1s0f0 gets removed at 2nd stage when service get restarted - network not functional Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: amach@suse.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=567427) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=567427) Yast2 logs obtained via save_y2log User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/24.0 Doing an autoyast ssh installation, everything runs through as expected until 2nd stage when services are restarted: Restarting all running services Then yast seem to remove configuration /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-enp1s0f0 (compare with y2log) and network is gone. Restaring systemd service network.service or similar does not help. Reproducible: Always We urgently need this working for our internal auto installation set up. This worked at some point of 13.1 development, but not sure anymore when the last one was installed. We now created a /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-enp1s0f0 file and brought network up. Feel free to log into the machine: ringwood.arch.suse.de if you need more information or logs. Remote console can be accessed via: http://ringwood-sp user/pass: root/hammer Strange was that the wrong network device seem to have been brought up via: ifconfig enp1s0f1 up or similar. When logging in via serial console and doing ifconfig you get: enp1s0f1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:00:1A:1B:08:12 UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b) lo Link encap:Local Loopback inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0 inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:65536 Metric:1 RX packets:32 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:32 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:2180 (2.1 Kb) TX bytes:2180 (2.1 Kb) But the network card with the link (and used at 1st stage and the beginning of 2nd stage) must have been enp1s0f0 which has a link. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

As this was a ssh installation, the window (logged in via ssh and yast2.ssh got started to complete installation is frozen at this point. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
