Yes, you will need to set up a bridge. Normally this is done automatically when you install openSUSE. I see you are running the 'Virtualization repo' version of the kernel and Xen which is fine if that was your intent. You can expect regular updates to this version (and possibly some instability) as the development process continues for openSUSE 12.1. If this was not your intent, you will need to back rev to the openSUSE 11.4 versions and then update from the channel to get the latest stable version. That said, we are interested in problems you come across running these newest builds :) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I can't see how this is connected to installing a guest - the calling application (vtltape) should be completely independent. Even worse, the functions vtl_c_ioctl() and vtl_sg_copy_user() referenced in the stack trace don't exist in master (2.6.39), 11.4, or 11.3. Quite logical given that the report references a 2.6.31 based Fedora 12 kernel. Did you perhaps mix things up? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Again : kerneloops is thinking that it is a 2.6.31 bug : Why ever! Here is not kernel 2.6.31 around.
Then how do you expect us to work on this if the data you provide is inaccurate? Stop providing unreliable images - get us the actual kernel logs (from /var/log or via serial console). (In reply to comment #12)

Hardly the same problem - this is a *warning*, not an oops (and meanwhile fixed upstream - see https://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=commitdi...). Whether this may be the reason for your installation issue I can't immediately tell, but I'd be surprised if you were the only one having a problem if so. And the particular issue had been in a number of earlier upstream kernel releases, so can be expected to be reproducible with the normal 11.4 bits. Bottom line - we first need a clear picture of what you're doing with what software, and precise data about the problems you're encountering. Otherwise there's nothing we can usefully do here. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
