[Bug 478508] New: "osc diff" is broken
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=478508 Summary: "osc diff" is broken Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: hpj@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- I've got a package that's linked from a package in another project. "osc log" gives me this: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- r3 | hpjansson | 2009-02-19 14:40:47 | 64350100a9e125af7b8045c700f79ce5 | unknown Port /usr/bin/gnome fastboot trigger from 11.1. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- r2 | hpjansson | 2009-02-19 14:36:40 | 93645dc1efedf48c24bdec9fc76bc56f | unknown Apply fastboot patch. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- r1 | hpjansson | 2009-02-19 13:38:28 | 8309deafaffaec75076b953682e0e060 | unknown <no message> ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Trying to use "osc diff -r 2:3", I get output as if all the files in the package had been created, i.e. a monster list of + changes. "osc diff -r 3:3" and "osc diff -r 3" yield similar results. I also get changes to the hidden _link file in the diff - apparently in reverse, as it insists it has been removed. I was hoping for the changes made from r2 to r3, which are minimal. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

[~] osc --version 0.110
Hmm 0.110 is "quite" old - is it possible to update to 0.113?. I can't reproduce the problem with various linked packages. If an update doesn't solve your problem can you please tell me the project and package which generates a "monster" diff? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Nautilus, for instance. 0.113 is not available as an update to openSUSE 11.1... Will it work if it just gets dropped in from factory? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Try any package in OBS devel:playground:fastboot. Nautilus, for instance.
I just tried it and it looked ok to me (it displayed changes in 3 files).
0.113 is not available as an update to openSUSE 11.1... Will it work if it just gets dropped in from factory? You can get the latest osc packages from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/Tools/
