Just so I get this clear when I create the log. I booted the CD, clicked on install, after the process continues I am prompted to remove the CD and reboot. Should I press Shift-F8 to start logging just after clicking install. I propose I cancel the re-boot and save the log to USB stick, then confirm that again the MBR fails to be written before attaching the log. Should it be necessary to first repartition and reformat my HD and rewrite the MBR so that I can be sure that the MBR is not already pointing to the correct partition at the start. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

This time I noticed in the summary that boot from MBR is disabled by default. I enabled boot from MBR and installation performs normally. I don't know why boot from MBR is disabled on a new install. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
