[Bug 463446] New: Suse way to build an rpm package from kernel source
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=463446 Summary: Suse way to build an rpm package from kernel source Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: kailed@kailed.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Hi, in debian and in some other distro you can easily build a .deb package from kernel source (vanilla or not..). If I'm not wrong we don't have such features. Well, you can compile and build an rpm package calling make rpm-pkg/binrpm-pkg but package is very generic and postinstall script are missing (mkinitrd,bootloader..). Maybe that require/provide are not well filled... Please don't answer that we have build, osc, those are different beast we only need a simple solution. So you can easily build rpm from different kernel with an easy way to manage them.. I'm not sure that "kernel" is the right component, maybe it's more an packaging/development/tools/whatever features.. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
