By default, the UI should always present the 'latest and greatest'. For this, the state is clearly defined. So in the example above (comment #4, end), the state of zypp-1288-0.noarch should be shown.

But exactly this is the bug. The UI shows no transaction, although a transaction is pending for an item that is not the 'latest and greatest'. Fixed in libzypp-2.3.1 (for 10.2). The candidate object the UI retrieves now is the one that transacts.
