Created attachment 829136 [details] dmesg when plugging in USB2 port
When plugging in a USB2 port the device stile doesn't work, but dmesg looks slightly different.
For the record, this is a crash followed by a failed reset. [23416.789486] sd 3:0:0:0: [sdc] Attached SCSI disk [23448.069949] usb 1-4: reset high-speed USB device number 8 using xhci_hcd [23453.433640] usb 1-4: device descriptor read/64, error -110 [23469.049255] usb 1-4: device descriptor read/64, error -110 [23469.285385] usb 1-4: reset high-speed USB device number 8 using xhci_hcd [23474.425154] usb 1-4: device descriptor read/64, error -110 [23490.040812] usb 1-4: device descriptor read/64, error -110 [23490.276788] usb 1-4: reset high-speed USB device number 8 using xhci_hcd [23495.288675] xhci_hcd 0000:00:14.0: Timeout while waiting for setup device command [23500.664610] xhci_hcd 0000:00:14.0: Timeout while waiting for setup device command [23500.872500] usb 1-4: device not accepting address 8, error -62 That this fails under different speeds indicates that we should approach this from the angle of not crashing the device.
