https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=223629 ------- Comment #1 from lukrez@gmx.at 2006-11-24 09:21 MST ------- As Eduardo Chappa indicated in http://groups.google.de/group/comp.mail.pine/browse_frm/thread/7e910eec6effa..., more detailed information about updates to that patch can be gathered from http://www.math.washington.edu/~chappa/pine/updates/rules.html. The macro support is dated to October 17, 2006. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=223629 bk@novell.com changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEW |ASSIGNED ------- Comment #2 from bk@novell.com 2007-02-01 06:05 MST ------- Might theoretically fix bug 223625 (crash in index-rules) but I cannot reproduce it so far, may need a special mail to reproduce. Since Eduardo's patches are included as one mangled into one "all.patch" in our current pine package (was not my idea...) it is very time-intensive to only update only the rules patch but not the other patches which are included in the all.patch, but it makes sense to update all anyway, if it's possible to do an update. OTOH, alpine, the next version of pine is now available as part of a public beta test, and while it has some bugs, it appears to work great for many people (inclding suppopr for UTF-8). It's definitely worthwile to look for alpine for the future In addition it may be also very good to lobby the alpine developers to include the rules patch, maybe flagging the features it supports as community-supported so that the alpine developers do not have to fix the bugs in it, which they may be scared of. Maybe the patch could be extended to hide all rules options unless they are enabled by a config option (pine has the feature to hide a set of config options, e.g. some expert options are normally hidden) which says that these options are not supported by the pine developers themselfes. I hope that that may reduce their resistance against including foreign patches into the program which they have to maintain (they are developers of the UW and are responsible for pine to the UW, since pine is the University's email client) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
