The reason is probably that the bottom bar "needs" this space. It shows: Beste x Ergebnisse von < werden angezeigt. (Suchvorgang läuft noch) plus the buttons "Vorherige Ergebnisse", "Weitere Ergebnisse", "Einrichten" and "Schließen". I can't reduce the width as long as search results are displayed. To reproduce, search for anything in Kerry while the index is still being build. Removed the "(Suchvorgang läuft noch)" parts from the status bar. Hopefully this will make it small enough again
I can't check this part because my index is complete ;-) What I can verify: the "Beste x Ergebnisse ..." text is now allowed to break into multiple lines if necessary. Thanks for fixing! Therefore you might want to re-add the "Suchvorgang läuft noch" text ;-) (if not already done.)

I spoke too early :-( Well, at least it fits on 1280px this time ;-) Current behaviour is: (result count means "Beste x Ergebnisse...") - open kerry, search for something -> result count breaks into several lines if necessary - click another category, for example "Anwendungen" -> result count is forced to fit into a single line, window size is enlarged to display the whole line and can't be reduced - search for something else -> result count can break into several lines again Reopening because this is inconsistent behaviour.
