https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=745954 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=745954#c0 Summary: Quickly adding new konsole tabs causes some of them to become un-named Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: mail@staffan.tjernstrom.name QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=475139) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=475139) Screenshot detail showing some tabs unnamed. User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:9.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0.1 If I quickly open up 5-10 tabs in konsole using the "new tab" button (which I've configured to be visible in my konsole profile), then some of them will not have a name on them. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Start konsole 2.Make sure the "add new tab" button is visible 3.Click on the add new tab button a number of times in quick succession Actual Results: Not all tabs get named, some of them are blank. (see attached screen-shot detail). Expected Results: All the tabs should have a name. I've seen this on ATI (HD4650 w/radeon), nVidia (GT530 w/nvidia), and Intel Core I2 (Sandybrige) chipsets / drivers. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I've just pushed a fix onto the master branch. It seems to work fine. You are welcome to get the latest code from https://projects.kde.org/projects/kde/kde-baseapps/konsole/repository and check whether it really works or causes regression. That would increase the chance of backporting it into KDE SC 4.8.2. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Not sure if I need to separately report that the master branch copy however is missing the "new tab" / "close tab" buttons in the tab bar and the choices under the "Tabs" tab to show them or not. Thus I cannot test the "click the new tab" portion of the bug, but I did the testing by pressing ctrl-shift-t in quick succession. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

No needed to open another report for the "missing" buttons. The thing is those tabbar options have been changed from per-profile options to Konsole global options under "Settings->Configure Konsole". And the auto migration script has not been pushed onto master branch yet.
