https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=261386 Summary: yast sudo editor corrupts sudoers file Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bluedzins@wp.pl QAContact: jsrain@novell.com I assume the main point of having nice GUI sudo editor is to work with guarantee that sudoers file will be technically ok. I added (using sudo editor) one entry, nothing fancy, group %users host localhost nopasswd yes commands wlassistant and when I run (from Konsole) sudo wlassistant I get error: line 31 <<< sudo: parse error in /etc/sudoers near line 31 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Anyway, I've already added some validation to yast2-sudo, it now checks whether entered command is a valid path or alias and does not let user save syntactically incorrect file. So as a solution, either upgrade to yast2-sudo 2.15.1 or newer, or enter full path to the command, in your case '/usr/bin/xterm' *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 227397 *** -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
